HARRAH’S HOTEL IN NEW ORLEANS
The Asian Chamber of Commerce of Louisiana is proud to host
its First Annual Business Awards Gala on October 18th,
2008, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The celebration promises
cocktails, music, dinner, and guest speakers. The winners
will be presented their awards at the Gala in recognition
of their contributions to the economic development and well-being
of Louisiana. Most importantly, the winners are recognized
for their exemplary performance and leadership in the Asian
business community.
The three award categories are: Asian Business Excellence
Award, Asian Business Leader Award, and Emerging Asian Business
of the Year Award. Nominations may be submitted by individuals
or businesses. Nomination forms can be downloaded and faxed

Deadline to submit a nomination is September 1, 2008.

The Vietnamese American Voters Association and the Asian Chamber
of Commerce of Louisiana are hosting a meet-and-greet event
to for its members and friends to have the opportunity to
discuss business and community related issues with the following
run-off candidates:
New Orleans Council-At-Large Ms. Jackie Clarkson
Ms. Cynthia Willard Lewis
State Senate District 7 Dr. David Heitmeir
Mr. Paul Richard
Please come with your questions for these candidates regarding
issues of local economic development projects, crime, and
healthcare. Light refreshments will be served.

Street, Gretna, LA 70053.
This event is the
first in our series of job fairs and business seminars
to be hosted throughout the metropolitan areas (West Bank,
New Orleans East, and Metairie). The seminar will help business
owners to learn more about services and incentives available
for training and hiring new employees. In addition, job
opportunities are available for those who are looking for
employment. Job 1 and LSBDC are sponsors for the event.

This is an event for all—small business owners and individuals.
We will have vendors from large corporations and governmental
entities looking to do business with small locally owned businesses.
At the same time, there will be companies at the event looking
for employees to hire. Please come and bring your business
information to share with the vendors, and for those seeking
jobs bringing a resume’ is a plus.
